Following the increase in tourist visits, record revenue growth has been recorded in the sector - Irakli Nadareishvili

“In parallel with the growth of tourist visits in January-March 2026, a record figure for revenues was recorded in the tourism sector. Following the increase in tourist visits in the first quarter of the current year, the revenue figures were summarized, showing a record increase. This represents approximately USD 830 million in total revenue generated within the tourism industry.

Against this background, it is important to emphasize once again the diversification of tourist markets, which is one of the foundations of our policy regarding this field”, - said Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, as he assessed record tourism revenues for the 1st quarter of 2026.

According to Irakli Nadareishvili, based on the statistics for the 1st quarter of 2026, the European Union leads in terms of revenue with a 36% increase - income from this direction amounted to 141 million USD, which is 17% of the total revenue. The share of Turkey is also significant, generating approximately 15% of the revenues.

“As a result of diversifying tourist flows and further stimulating direct flights, we hope that the growth trend in tourist flows and tourism revenues will be maintained throughout the summer tourist season”, - added the Deputy Minister.
