Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Geka Geladze, met with Mark Tervakoski, Director of the Office for Europe and Asia at the US State Department`s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs [INL].
At the meeting, the Minister spoke about the ongoing and implemented reforms in the Ministry, as well as the measures that were carried out in the direction of the fight against crime, including drug-related crime. The parties also discussed the existing fruitful partnership relations and future cooperation plans between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Bureau of INL.
The meeting was held within the framework of the international forum ongoing in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, which is organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Heads of relevant Ministries of various countries, field experts, and representatives of international and regional organizations are participating in the forum.
