The Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Geka Geladze, within the framework of an official visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan, took part in the international forum entitled: "Combating Transnational Drug Threats Directed Against Public Health and Safety". The forum was held in the city of Samarkand, organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
At the forum, existing challenges and new trends in the direction of illicit drug trafficking were discussed. Additionally, special attention was focused on the importance of deepening international cooperation in this field.
Within the framework of the event, a high-level plenary session and thematic discussions were held, in which heads of relevant agencies of various countries, field experts, and representatives of international and regional organizations participated, including heads of the OSCE, United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, World Health Organization, Interpol, Europol, World Customs Organization, and the UN International Narcotics Control Board.
