Growth of domestic exports contributes to maintaining high economic growth in the country, creating additional jobs, has a positive impact on the welfare of the population - Tsintsadze

Positive trends in Georgia`s foreign trade continue, which is especially reflected in the sharp increase in domestic exports, said today the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development.

According to him, a record volume of domestic exports was recorded in March, growing by approximately 83% year-on-year and exceeding 463 million USD.

"The export and domestic export figures for January-March are also record-breaking; specifically, a nearly 75% growth in domestic exports was recorded in January-March, with the volume exceeding 1.12 billion USD.

The current foreign trade results further confirm that Georgia has a correct and consistent economic policy that promotes the development of local production and helps the private sector export their products worldwide within the framework of free trade agreements with numerous countries.

According to Government forecasts, this trend will continue in the coming months. Such trends will contribute to maintaining high economic growth in the country, creating additional jobs, and ultimately have a positive impact on the growth of the population`s welfare", - said Vakhtang Tsintsadze.
