President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, held a meeting with ambassadors accredited to the United Nations, highlighting Georgia’s role in international cooperation and dialogue.

Discussions focused on Georgia’s active participation in UN activities and ongoing cooperation within the organization. The parties also addressed key global challenges and current issues on the UN agenda.

Special attention was given to the situation in Georgia’s Russian-occupied territories. President underlined the importance of continued international awareness.

He also highlighted Georgia’s economic potential and the reforms implemented in recent years.

Mikheil Kavelashvili expressed support for the UN Secretary-General’s reform initiative “UN 80”, aimed at improving the organization’s effectiveness and adapting it to modern challenges. He also noted Georgia’s unique role as a platform for dialogue between civilisations and a contributor to peace efforts.

The visiting delegation included permanent representatives from several countries, including Tonga, Samoa, Tajikistan, the Republic of the Congo, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Timor-Leste, Paraguay, Mauritius, and Botswana.

The meeting, held at the Presidential Palace, was attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Lasha Darsalia, Permanent Representative of Georgia to the UN David Bakradze, and representatives of the Presidential Administration.
