According to Minister of Foreign Affairs, Georgia is successfully maintaining peace and security in the country despite a difficult geopolitical situation. She made this statement during a hearing in Parliament today.

As Maka Botchorishvili noted, in order to comply with the sanctions regime, the Georgian Government immediately began implementing appropriate measures to ensure that Georgia would not be used for circumventing sanctions, and has been successfully carrying out this policy to this day.

“Despite the fact that not a single instance of sanctions evasion using Georgian territory has been recorded, Georgia is regularly subjected to attacks by both domestic satellites and external forces.

This fact further proves that our country is a target for certain forces that spare no effort to jeopardize our national interests, as well as peace and security in our country.

In this reality, the Georgian Government’s struggle to protect Georgia’s interests is not easy. However, we can say with pride that we are successfully managing to maintain peace and security in our country within a most difficult geopolitical context and to create an appropriate environment for stable economic development and prosperity”, - said the Minister.
