Of course, we will continue good relations with Georgia, I look forward to visiting you in Tbilisi or elsewhere - Magyar

Of course, we will continue the good relations with Georgia. Péter Magyar, Hungary’s opposition “Tisza” party leader, said this while answering the question of journalist from “Rustavi 2”.

QUESTION: Given that Georgia and Hungary share a longstanding friendship expressed through strategic partnership, how will you continue relations with Georgia, and will there be closer cooperation with the Georgian government?

ANSWER: The fact that Victor Orban’s government had strong ties with a country in the Balkans or anywhere else doesn’t mean that Hungary will have worse relations with the same country, but if Hungary had bad relations with the country, we will improve that. Because it is in our shared interest to work together, to cooperate and to prosper together. I look forward to visiting you in Tbilisi or elsewhere. I’m eager to work together. I want to emphasize that we have no intention of interfering in the internal affairs of other countries. We have no intention of interfering in the elections of your country, or anywhere else. That’s not our style, and that is not the job of any European government; everyone is elected to support and represent the electorate of that country.
