Against the backdrop of geopolitical risks, Georgiaэs economy is expected to grow by 5.5% in 2026б the Asian Development Bank [ADB] has upgraded Georgiaэs economic growth forecast from 5% to 5.5%.

As Vakhtang Tsintsadze, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, noted, Georgia aspires to become a trade, logistics, and transport hub.

"The ADB focuses on the record-low level of the current account deficit, as well as the record-high level of international reserves. Also, for 2026, the ADB expects the average inflation rate in Georgia to be 3.8%, which is a decrease compared to the previous year. In general, the ADB emphasizes that Georgia strives to become a trade, logistics, and transport hub", - added Vakhtang Tsintsadze.

The ADB forecast is based on a scenario of an early stabilization of the conflict in the Middle East, which was made on March 10 under conditions of particularly high uncertainty. "Despite global shocks, Georgia`s economy remained resilient and showed strong 7.5% growth in 2025", - says the ADB Country Director for Georgia.
