Within the framework of parliamentary oversight over the defense and security sector of Georgia, members of the Trust Group heard a report from the Director General of the Special Penitentiary Service, Giorgi Pataridze, who presented information on the activities carried out by the Service in 2025, as well as on classified procurements.
Head of the Service informed the members of the Trust Group about the reforms implemented within the agency, issues related to nutrition and medical services in penitentiary institutions, and discussed the reforms ongoing since 2025.
“Significant reforms have been implemented in the Special Penitentiary Service, including structural reorganization. As a result, several structural units have been merged to form distinct departments. The reform has enabled the Service to optimize costs and increase remuneration for its employees”, - said Chairman of the Trust Group, Aleksandre Tabatadze.
Members of the Trust Group positively assessed the activities of the Special Penitentiary Service.
