As a result of operational measures and investigative actions carried out into the criminal case, officers of Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested 2 persons: I.M., born in 1992, and G.M., born in 1985, for failure to provide necessary assistance to a person in a life-threatening situation and failure to notify the appropriate institution.

The investigation established that on April 6 of the current year, late at night, Z.A., born in 1995, came to visit the defendants in Tbilisi. Later, he became unwell and died. The defendants placed the body in a car operated by G.M., drove to the wooded area near Tbilisi where they left the deceased person and continued movement to the direction of one of the regions.

As a result of the investigative actions carried out in the criminal case, law enforcement officers identified the perpetrators of the crime and arrested both of them as defendants. The defendants fully admit to the crime committed and are cooperating with the investigation. Appropriate examinations have been assigned to determine the exact cause of death of Z.A.

The investigation is underway under Article 129 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
