In the first two months of 2026, a fairly high level of economic activity was recorded in Georgia - the average economic growth reached 8.4%. At the same time, the economic growth figures for 2025 were finalized, showing a real growth of 7.5% last year. Such a statement made today the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development.
As Vakhtang Tsintsadze pointed out, between 2021 and 2025, Georgia`s average economic growth was 9.3%, while during the same period, the average growth of other EU candidate countries was approximately 3.5%.
"It is also worth noting that between 2021 and 2025, Moldova`s average economic growth was 2.5%. Consequently, Georgia`s economic growth was almost four times higher. As a result, Georgia`s GDP per capita at purchasing power parity (PPP) exceeds Moldova`s figure by approximately 60%”, - he explained.
Regarding the economic growth forecast, the Deputy Minister assessed that despite global challenges, the trend of high economic growth will continue in the coming years: “Our expectation is that Georgia will be a leader in terms of economic growth, not only among the countries of the region and Europe but globally as well".
