Thunderstorms, winds, avalanche risks - the weather to worsen in Georgia

According to the National Environmental Agency, intermittent precipitation, heavy in some places, will continue across Georgia until April 14. Thunderstorms, strengthening winds, and avalanche risks in high-mountain regions are possible.

On the night of April 9-10, air temperatures in the country`s mountainous areas are expected to drop to -2 to -4 degrees. These freezing temperatures may cause damage to fruit trees that are currently in the flowering phase.

Expected precipitation may lead to a significant rise in water levels in rivers, the formation of avalanches in high-mountain regions, and the initiation or activation of landslide and mudflow processes in hilly and mountainous zones.
