We reviewed the contract related to dredging and breakwater construction for the Anaklia deep-sea port. As a result, the project cost has been reduced by USD 52.5 million. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia.

"Over the past few months, we have carried out significant optimization of state expenditures under existing contracts in various areas. Among others, we reviewed the contract related to dredging and breakwater construction for the Anaklia deep-sea port, whose initial value was 203.9 million USD.

We also revised the contract with the supervising company. As a result, the project cost has been reduced by over 25% or by 52.5 million USD. Consequently, construction in Anaklia will actively resume in the coming days at significantly lower costs.

The Government of Georgia is committed to ensuring that all infrastructure projects are implemented with maximum cost-efficiency and minimal budgetary expenditure. I would like to thank the Minister of Economy and her team for saving 52.5 million USD for the state budget in this case", - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
