The President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, held a face-to-face meeting with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the high level of strategic partnership between the two countries and their successful cooperation across various fields.
As noted by President Kavelashvili during the meeting, maintaining the existing high standard of the strong strategic partnership between Georgia and Azerbaijan, as well as ensuring its multifaceted development, constitutes a priority for Georgia.
In the course of the face-to-face discussion, it was particularly emphasized that, against the backdrop of ongoing geopolitical developments, at a time when the international order is undergoing fundamental transformation, the preservation of stability and peace in the region is acquiring increasing importance.
The President of Georgia expressed his gratitude to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for supporting Georgia`s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
President Mikheil Kavelashvili also thanked Ilham Aliyev for visiting the Embassy of Georgia in Baku and expressing his sincere condolences on the passing of His Holiness, Ilia II, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia. Following the conclusion of the meeting, the President of Azerbaijan left an entry in the honorary guest book.
