A third person has been detained in connection with a criminal case of hooliganism and interference in the activities of an official following an incident involving the Armenian Prime Minister at a church. According to media reports, two of the detainees are schoolchildren.
As reported by the “Caucasian Knot”, two suspects in hooliganism have been detained in Yerevan following a conflict with Nikol Pashinyan at St. Anne’s Church. After the liturgy, accompanied by security, he was heading for the exit, one of those present approached him and, saying, “Don’t look at me like that”, made a sharp motion with his hand toward the prime minister.
A criminal case has been opened in connection with the incident at St. Anne"s Church under Part 1 of Article 297 (hooliganism) and Part 3 of Article 452 (interference with the lawful official or political activity of an official) of the Criminal Code of Armenia. Three people have been detained. Two of those detained are twin brothers and schoolchildren, News.Am reported. According to the agency, they have already reached the age of majority.
Police do not need additional orders to carry out their duties, Armenian Prime Minister stated, responding to the agency’s question regarding the detention of young people following the incident at the church.
