As part of an off-site sitting, members of the Agriculture Committee inspected the Shavgele and Kariata drainage systems located in Samegrelo, as well as the Dimi–Rikoti irrigation system in Imereti.
The committee members familiarized themselves on-site with the existing infrastructure, ongoing and planned works, and received detailed information about the functioning of these systems.
The General Director of "Georgian Amelioration," Gigla Tamazashvili, accompanied the members of Parliament and provided them with information regarding the planned projects.
The MPs noted that such infrastructure projects are important both for increasing agricultural productivity and for creating stable working conditions for farmers.
Within the framework of the off-site sitting, special attention was paid to the efficient management of water resources, the development of modern irrigation and drainage systems, and the strengthening of the sustainability of agriculture in the region.
