The 70% increase in local exports demonstrates the competitiveness of Georgian products in international markets. Such a statement made today the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Vakhtang Tsintsadze.
According to him, these current figures indicate that local production is on the rise within the country, creating added value and generating employment.
"Positive trends in foreign trade persisted in February. Based on January-February data, we have seen an approximate 23% increase in exports, amounting to USD 1.027 billion. Notably, during this period, local exports experienced remarkable growth, specifically, a 70% increase, bringing the total volume to USD 660 million. Such a rise in local exports underscores the growing competitiveness of Georgian-made products on the international stage. This signifies that local production is expanding, adding value, creating jobs, and ultimately, these products are being exported globally.
The Government aims to sustain these positive trends, foster the development of local industry, and enhance the competitiveness of Georgian products abroad.
Supporting programmes are precisely designed to achieve these goals. Local production is the sector that generates additional employment, attracts investment from both local and international sources, and ultimately contributes to positive economic growth", - said Vakhtang Tsintsadze.
