The developments in the Middle East remind us of the immense importance of peace. Constant attention and caution are necessary to ensure that peace is firmly maintained in Georgia, as peace is the fundamental basis for the country’s development. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia.
As he noted, the authorities will continue to do everything possible to maintain peace and stability in the country.
Irakli Kobakhidze also spoke about charter flights organized to bring citizens of the country back home after the outbreak of hostilities, which had left them stranded in Gulf countries.
“I would like to thank the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Minister, and our ambassadors - particularly our Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Gia Janjghava, as well as Vako Avaliani in Qatar and Nikoloz Revazishvili in Saudi Arabia. I also thank every employee of these embassies, whose daily efforts ensured that our citizens safely returned to their homeland. Four state charter flights were organized from Oman and Saudi Arabia, and as a result, 558 of our citizens returned to Georgia. All flights were fully financed by the state. I would also like to thank the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development and the Minister for their efforts. It was very important to ensure the maximum safety of our citizens”, - said the Prime Minister of Georgia.
