Migration Department employees detained 31 foreign citizens

As part of the fight against illegal migration, employees of the Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted special immigration control measures.

As a result of complex measures, 31 foreign citizens were detained, including citizens of India, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Kenya, Pakistan, China, Belarus, and Kazakhstan.

Within the framework of the measures, the department employees checked specific locations, which aimed to identify foreign citizens residing in Georgia without legal grounds.

It was determined that the detained persons resided in the country in violation of the requirements established by the Law of Georgia “On the Legal Status of Foreigners and Stateless Persons”. Currently, the detainees are placed in the temporary accommodation center of the Migration Department. Relevant procedures are underway to expel them from the country.
