Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee assessed the final statement issued by the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly following the visit of its high-level delegation to Georgia, stressing that the statement sends a clear message both domestically and internationally that "the truth cannot be hidden".

"The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly had condemned attacks on state institutions and the violent attempt to overthrow the Government.

This is a message not only to our opposition but also to everyone outside Georgia, including their supporters in the European Parliament and the European Commission, that the truth cannot be hidden. By abandoning their parliamentary mandates, the opposition made a decision that harms democracy. It is an important call for them to at least prepare for the upcoming elections and, instead of running around Brussels and various capitals, perhaps meet their own voters and their own society", - said Nikoloz Samkharadze.

The president of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Pere Joan Pons and a high-level delegation ended their visit to Georgia.

As they underlined in the concluding statement, the use of violence against state institutions is unacceptable. "Resolving the country`s internal political challenges is not the responsibility of other international bodies, a boycott cannot serve as an alternative to dialogue and political engagement", - reads the statement.
