The municipal shelter of Tbilisi, located in Lilo, currently serves 116 beneficiaries

The municipal shelter of the capital, located in Lilo, has the capacity to accommodate 240 beneficiaries at a time. Such a statement made today the Mayor of Tbilisi.

Homeless individuals are provided with meals, personal-use items, and hygiene supplies.

They also receive primary outpatient medical care and medications on a 24-hour basis. Residents of the shelter are supported by social workers, and when necessary, they are also provided with psychological services.

Homeless individuals are given the opportunity to learn painting, embroidery, sewing, knitting, and working with polymer clay. In addition, training sessions are organized to develop their professional skills and support their future self-employment.

Currently, 116 homeless individuals reside at the shelter, 45 of whom are women. Among the residents, the youngest is an 18-year-old man, while the oldest is a 92-year-old woman. Citizens may access the Tbilisi Municipal Shelter either on their own initiative or with the assistance of the Patrol Police.

To be admitted to the shelter, registration in the capital is required. However, during the winter period, considering weather conditions, individuals are not refused overnight accommodation due to the lack of such registration. More than 4 million GEL has been allocated in the budget to ensure the effective operation of the shelter", - said Kakha Kaladze.
