Gigla Tamazashvili-General Director of "Georgian Amelioration" Ltd met with the representatives of Water Users Organization (WUO) in Sagarejo municipality.

The General Director provided detailed information to the participants of the meeting about the new irrigation tariff set by GNERC (Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission) and its state subsidy scheme.

The focus was placed on the issues related to the upcoming irrigation season. The parties discussed efficient water supply management, proper operation of irrigation infrastructure and the importance of cooperation with the WUO.

It was mentioned that from February 2026 through January 2027, Georgian Amelioration will supply water according to the agreed and approved schedule, which will ensure equitable and stable allocation of irrigation water.

Prior to the start of the irrigation season, it is necessary to finalize water use schedule. Farmers who wish to uninterruptedly receive irrigation water at their preferred time are advised to promptly contact Georgian Amelioration service centers and finalize the water use schedule agreement. It`d be mentioned that signing the agreement does not create any immediate financial obligation as the service fee will be paid after the delivery of irrigation water.
