Officers of Adjara Main Division of the Central Criminal Police under the Ministry of Internal Affairs have detained a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan, E.A., born in 1993, in Batumi, on charges of facilitating the illegal purchase, storage and sale of a particularly large amount of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
As a result of a search of the defendant’s temporary residence, law enforcement officers seized as evidence a particularly large amount of various narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances prepared for sale, including: cocaine, methadone, pregabalin, ecstasy and dried marijuana. The police also seized materials necessary for packaging narcotic drugs.
The investigation is underway under Articles 260, 261 and 260-4 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, providing up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
