President of Georgia awards members of the Georgian National Figure Skating Team and representatives of the Georgian Figure Skating Federation with the Order of Honour

Acting upon the recommendation of the Prime Minister of Georgia and the Chairman of the Parliament, President Mikheil Kavelashvili presented the Order of Honour to the members of the Georgian National Figure Skating Team and representatives of the Georgian Figure Skating Federation.

The laureates were awarded state honors in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the development of the Georgian state and for their historic achievements in sports.

The event, held at the Presidential Palace, was attended by the First Lady of Georgia, Tamar Bagrationi; the Prime Minister, Irakli Kobakhidze; the Chairman of Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili; the Minister of Sport, Shalva Gogoladze; as well as other representatives from the field of sports.

As President Mikheil Kavelashvili stated in his speech, it is a source of pride that a small yet dignified Georgia was represented among the major nations participating in the Winter Olympic Games.

In recognition of their outstanding contributions to the development of the Georgian state and for their historic achievements in sports, the Order of Honour was awarded to: Members of the Georgian National Figure Skating Team: Luka Berulava, Anastasia Metelkina, Anastasia Gubanova, Nika Egadze; Personal coaches: Pavel Sliusarenko (Luka Berulava and Anastasia Metelkina), Eter Tutberidze (Nika Egadze); Mariam Giorgobiani, President of Georgian Figure Skating Federation and Salome Chigogidze, member of Georgian Figure Skating Federation and international category judge in figure skating.
