Officers of Adjara Main Division of the Central Criminal Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, on charges of facilitating the illegal purchase, storage and sale of large and especially large amounts of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances by a group with prior agreement, detained two citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan: A.Z., born in 1998, and E.F., born in 1999, in Batumi.

During the search of the defendants` personal belongings and search held in temporary residence, as well as during the investigative experiment, law enforcement officers particularly large amount of various narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances prepared for sale, including: cocaine, dried marijuana, methamphetamine, lyrica and pregabalin.

The police also seized materials necessary for packaging narcotic drugs. The investigation is being conducted under Articles 260, 261 and 260-4 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provides for up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
