A session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Georgia and the Republic of Armenia was held under the co-chairmanship of the Prime Ministers of the two countries.

At the 15th meeting of the Commission, Irakli Kobakhidze and Nikol Pashinyan discussed the positive dynamics of deepening partnership across various sectors and future prospects for cooperation.

The Prime Minister of Georgia emphasized the strategic partnership with the Republic of Armenia, the growing cooperation between the two countries and the importance of maintaining stability in the region.

“Our countries have established diverse cooperation formats, which positively contribute to the development of our partnership. Armenia consistently ranks among Georgia"s Top 10 trading partners. In terms of the number of visitors to Georgia, Armenia is among the Top 3 countries. Beyond trade and economic relations, we are connected by very close cooperation in areas such as education, culture, people-to-people ties and strategic sectors. Against this backdrop, there is significant potential to further deepen cooperation in all directions. It is also very important to maintain stability in the region. We are pleased with the recent positive trends in our region. The Peace Agreement signed between Armenia and Azerbaijan was particularly important. All of this provides a strong foundation to further strengthen and develop our region. Mr. Prime Minister, I would like to thank you for your personal contribution to the development of our relations. We highly appreciate it”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.

The Prime Minister of Armenia thanked his Georgian counterpart for Georgia’s continued support of the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan and highlighted the positive dynamics in the development of trade and economic ties between the two countries: “Since gaining independence, trains from Georgia have been arriving in Armenia and we hope that railway transportation will further increase trade. Your support in this matter is invaluable. With Georgia"s support, trilateral trade and relations among Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan have deepened. Peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, of course, improves the overall environment in our region. We will continue to unconditionally support Georgia"s territorial integrity, sovereignty and political independence. The historical relationship between our peoples is very good and positive. This is an essential and significant value”.

Members of the governments of both countries participated in the session of the Georgia-Armenia Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation. Following the meeting, the Prime Ministers of Georgia and Armenia signed the protocol of the 15th session of the Commission.
