Amid the ongoing situation in the Middle East, the first charter flight has been operated today to facilitate the return of Georgian citizens whose travel cannot be assured on time by the relevant airlines.
The flight departed from Muscat, the capital of the Sultanate of Oman, bound for Tbilisi.
Besides, a special flight will also be operated from Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, to Tbilisi later today [March 4].
“The Georgian authorities continue to take all necessary measures to ensure the safe and timely return of our citizens. Georgian embassies in the UAE, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia are actively engaged in assisting those seeking to return to Georgia”, - reads the statement, issued by the Georgia Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
