As he noted, over the course of 30 years of cooperation, Georgia has shown all the signs of partnership, but in response, Brussels has effectively declared the Georgian people an enemy.

"We always expect hostile steps to be taken against Georgia. The fact is that today they are hostile towards Georgia. It is unfortunate that Brussels has declared Georgia an enemy and is treating the Georgian people as an enemy. In the conditions of 30 years of cooperation, when Georgia has shown full, all manifestations of partnership, including participation in military missions.

There was the EU mission in Central Africa, which failed because none of the EU member states wanted to go there, everyone wanted to stay warmly in their own rooms, and we went there and saved this mission from failure.

And how did they respond to this? In fact, Brussels has declared the Georgian people an enemy and they are planning things against us as if we were an enemy - thinking about how to strike us from here, how to make us suffer, how to funnel money in [to bypass sovereignty], and so on.

Of course, this is ultimately destroying the trust that the Georgian people have. What the EU Ambassador said has put an end to the Georgian people`s trust in Brussels, because he directly stated that his goal is for Georgia to pursue a policy that will harm the Georgian people.

These days were symbolic, marking four years since the start of the war [in Ukraine], and we have learned a lot. We recall how they were dragging us into the war. We saw how they demanded sanctions. They want Georgia to enter into an escalation with Russia, the end result of which is war", - said Shalva Papuashvili.

As he added, after 105 years of occupation of Georgia, it is clear that Brussels and its representatives view the Georgian people as a subordinate country that must follow instructions and not suffer: "Brussels and its representatives look upon us as a subordinate country that must follow instructions and harm itself, because they themselves are not content. They are envious, it seems. What else can one conclude? When they say that Europe is suffering economically and ask why Georgia is moving forward economically, the EU has stalled, and we are moving forward. And they ask why are you moving? The EU Ambassador listed his grievances: we do not let Russian tourists in, we are cutting fuel purchases, gas and petrol have become more expensive for us, and your people do not pay as much as ours do. All of this reveals that there are malicious intentions towards the Georgian people. I call upon Brussels and its ambassador to stop viewing Georgia as an enemy and to stop treating the Georgian people as one".
