Within the frames of the fight against illegal migration, employees of the Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted a special immigration control operation in Tbilisi and Batumi.

As a result of the complex operation, 35 foreign citizens were detained, including citizens of Turkey, Egypt, China, Iran, India, Zimbabwe, Bangladesh and Turkmenistan.

Based on the information obtained, within the framework of the operation, specific locations were checked by the department employees, aiming to identify foreign citizens residing in Georgia without a legal basis.

At this stage, rest of the detained persons have been transferred to the Temporary Accommodation Center of the Migration Department. Relevant procedures are underway to deport them from the country.
