Chairman of the Parliament’s European integration committee dismissed the upcoming European Parliament [EP] resolution on Georgia as worthless propaganda with no practical significance.

“I will print this resolution, just like the previous ones, shred it, and throw it in the trash. Unfortunately, these documents have no value”, - said Levan Makhashvili.

As he noted, the Government had initially hoped to use EP resolutions as instruments for improving bilateral relations and advancing shared objectives: “We had the desire to cooperate as much as possible on common goals and to use such documents to improve relations. However, we saw that these were simply propaganda papers, nothing more, and they have no value for Georgia”.

Referring to earlier resolutions adopted by the EP, MP stated that he had symbolically discarded them and intends to do the same with the new document: “I have already told you what I did with previous resolutions, and I will do the same with this one - not throw it in the trash, but recycle it and use it for better purposes, which have more value for Georgia and the Georgian people. There have been seven resolutions about Georgia, and this will be the eighth”.
