Permanent Representative of Georgia, Ambassador Khatia Tsilosani, presented her credentials to the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Alain Berset.

At the meeting, she thanked the Secretary General of the Council of Europe for his strong and unwavering support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia, which is clearly reflected in the Secretary General`s consolidated reports and the Committee of Ministers’ decisions on the conflict in Georgia.

“Georgia, as a member of the European family, is fully prepared to actively and constructively continue its dialogue with the Council of Europe and to contribute to the strengthening of human rights, democracy and the rule of law, while safeguarding the best interests of the country”, - said Khatia Tsilosani.

The Secretary General confirmed to the Georgian Ambassador the Council of Europe’s and his personal readiness to further deepen and strengthen the existing successful cooperation with Georgia. The parties also discussed the current developments in the country and future plans for cooperation.
