The authorities of occupant country accuse Georgia of provocative actions and call for dialogue

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs accuses Georgia of staging a political show and calls on dialogue.

“We urge the Georgian authorities to put an end to provocative actions and statements, use all available dialogue formats with Russia, Abkhazia and South Ossetia, including the regional IPRM, the Geneva discussions and the informal negotiation channel of Karasin-Abashidze, to solve existing problems in a mutually beneficial constructive manner.

Frequent border incidents once again confirm the importance of early negotiations between Tbilisi and Sukhumi and Tskhinvali on delimitation and demarcation of the border”, - reads the statement of the Russian MFA.

They also accuse the US for “provocative comments” and states that “all this at least undermines the position of Washington as an impartial participant in the Geneva discussions”.
