One Turkish soldier killed, nine wounded in Syria’s Idlib

One Turkish soldier was killed and nine wounded in an attack by Syrian government forces in Syria’s last rebel-held region of Idlib on Tuesday, bringing the number of Turkish troops killed in the area since last month to 57.

Turkey sent last month troops and military hardware to the northwestern region to support rebels fighting Russian-backed Syrian government forces looking to retake the rebel stronghold.

The offensive displaced more than 900 000 civilians.
