The media is obliged to check whether the video produced by the party is compatible with the law - may be the party wants to transmit pornography? - Irakli Kobakhidze, the former Speaker of the Georgian Parliament and the Executive Secretary of the "Georgian Dream" made the statement.
The opposition and the non-governmental sector are protesting the change in Electoral Code which refers to the election program and campaign which should not have to include propaganda of war and violence, hate speech and xenophobic statements. Under the proposed changes, media outlets are required to check the video of the political group whether it is compatible with the legislation.
The civil sector is talking about censorship. Member of the working group, Irakli Kobakhidze, said the new changes are not threatening for the media or political parties.
